Both of these competitions will run from 14th –
16th November 2014.
The Aberdeen Ladies Open is a competitive event open to
twelve teams on a first come first served basis. The format of the competition
is two sections of 6 teams playing a round robin followed by a final and 3v4
playoff. This guarantees all teams a minimum of five games.
The Lockhart Trophy is a new event for 2014 which has been
named after Jackie Lockhart to recognise all the support she has given to curling
in Aberdeen. This is going to be a more social event aimed at encouraging all
ages and abilities of lady curler to play at a more competitive level. It is
open to twelve teams on a first come first served basis with the format being a
Schenkel followed by a final and 3v4 playoff. This guarantees all teams a
minimum of four games.
Teams who intend to play in the Scottish Junior
Championships or Scottish Ladies Championships, or are funded are encouraged to
play in the Aberdeen Ladies Open as this is the more competitive of the two
events. Both events are open to teams of any four lady curlers.
Entries can be submitted by email or post but must come with
the appropriate entry fee to guarantee your place.
